Lisa Wise is an urban planner and Certified Public Accountant with nearly 20 years of professional experience in land use planning, public accounting, and finance. Lisa is the principal and owner of Lisa Wise Consulting (LWC). LWC focuses on comprehensive planning, economics, and building more livable communities. Her recent projects include the City of Ventura General Plan and Downtown Specific Plan, a Specific Plan for the City of Benicia, the Los Osos Habitat Conservation Plan, several housing elements, inclusionary and employee housing studies, a Business Plan for Sustainable Commercial Fisheries in San Luis Obispo County, and financial feasibility studies for Port San Luis, the City of Morro Bay, and the City of Hayward.
Lisa graduated from the Master of City and Regional Planning Program at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 2001. While attending Cal Poly, she worked for both the County of San Luis Obispo in the Housing and Economic Development Division and the Governor's Office of Planning and Research.
In addition to a City and Regional Planning Masters Degree, Lisa has a Masters Degree in Accountancy from DePaul University in Chicago and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati . From 1990 to 1999, Lisa was a manager in the securities and commodities division at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP (PWC) in Chicago and New York City.
Lisa also teaches a number of classes at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, including planning labs, population and housing courses, and real estate feasibility studies as a member of the part-time lecture staff.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys hiking, biking, and swimming. Past accomplishments include an ascent of Alpamayo, a 20,000-foot peak in the Peruvian Andes, and a 1,500-mile paddle of the Purus River in the Amazon jungle.
