The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County fills non-paid intern positions on a periodic basis. No paid positions are available at this time.
Restoration Steward Intern (currently filled)
Position Type: Non-paid; Academic credit possible
8-16 hours/wk (adjustable)
Summary: This internship will serve the Restoration Program of The Land Conservancy. The intern will be responsible for on-the-ground stewardship and maintenance of LCSLO restoration sites and properties including invasive species removal, irrigation and planting. This position will assist volunteers during volunteer work days, as well as miscellaneous tasks related to volunteer restoration projects, as appropriate.

Watershed Volunteer Coordinator (currently filled)
Position Type: Non-paid; Academic credit possible
6-10 hours/wk (adjustable)
Summary: The Watershed Volunteer Coordinator Intern will work with The Land Conservancy’s Membership Team and Restoration Project Manager to successfully organize, advertise, and facilitate two major community activities: 2011 Creek Day Cleanup and Lower San Luis Obispo Creek Floodplain Preserve volunteer work days.

Media/Communications Intern (currently filled)
Position Type: Non-paid; Academic credit possible
2-6 hours/wk (negotiable)
Summary: This internship services the community outreach program of The Land Conservancy and is directly responsible for media tracking & reporting. This position also assists with the development and dissemination of media communications, event promotions, and general messaging about local conservation and The Land Conservancy's mission.

Restoration Research Intern (currently filled)

Summary: This internship services the Restoration Program of The Land Conservancy and is directly responsible for researching grant opportunities and developing draft proposals. This position assists the Restoration Program Manager in identifying available funds and updating the in-house grant matrix. This position also assists with miscellaneous tasks related to restoration projects and volunteer activities as appropriate and as time allows.
