After graduating from the University of Hawaii in 2006 with a degree in Meteorology and focus in Climate Change, Melodie traveled the oceans working as a chief mate and scientist aboard an ocean restoration research vessel. Her career in land restoration began with the Student Conservation Association, leading teams of students in backcountry settings. Melodie is dedicated to restoring and conserving our beautiful San Luis Obispo County so that her son, Nainoa, and future generations will have an opportunity to experience all our local lands have to offer.
