Nathan graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington in 2008 with a degree in Politics and a focus on Latin American and Environmental Politics. He was a backcountry trip leader for Whitman and worked for the College's grounds crew. During his junior year, Nathan lived in Botswana, Africa where he apprenticed as a traditional fisherman. After college, Nathan lived in the Sierras for the summer, then moved to San Luis Obispo and herded goats for weed abatement and fire safety until he joined The Land Conservancy. Nathan loves to hike, ride his bike, play Frisbee, travel, read and watch movies.
